Leak Detection Specialists & Plumbing Services

We utilise an expert team to assist in locating leaks and completing the necessary repairs. Our experienced team will work quickly and cleaning through your property to identify, locate and repair any leak. We can respond and attend to suit your busy schedule. An initial assessment can be completed via our virtual platform and uploading of photos to try and make a strategic assessment of the further steps required.

MOISTURE MAPPING

Leak Solutions consider moisture mapping to be an essential Leak Detection tool, required alongside all methods of Leak Detection. Following a visual inspection, moisture readings are taken to measure and quantify the moisture content of all affected materials, then documented and correlated to help determine the source of the leak.
We use moisture mapping to some extent in every case for both diagnosis and repair.

LEAK DETECTION TECHNIQUES

ACOUSTIC LEAK DETECTION

Using our Acoustic Trace & Access Leak Detection System,  Leak Solutions can accurately locate and plot the route of all water services running throughout your property. Leaks and burst pipes can be identified using sound, this includes pipework housed in concrete, brick, timber, tarmac, and soil.
Leak Solutions typically use this method to identify leaks within pressurised heating systems and burst pipes on mains supplies and internal mains feeds.

THERMAL IMAGING

We use Thermal Imaging/infrared cameras to identify heat differential within materials. Cold and warm can be directly correlated to wet and dry, allowing for quick, effective, and non-invasive leak detection in some situations.
Typically we find thermal imaging most effective when detecting leaks in hot water and heating systems, particularly when pipes are set in screed.

PRESSURE TESTING

Water leaks can often result in a loss of pressure within a heating system. A drop in pressure from your taps or a reduction of pressure in your heating system is a sure sign of a leak somewhere in the system.
Our technicians will measure the pressure between certain areas of the system, thus narrowing the source of the problem. Measurements will be taken over a period of time to account for heating being on and off. Post pressure testing can be used after a leak has been fixed to give extra peace of mind.

DYE TESTING

Dye testing is a basic process used when locating otherwise inaccessible leaks and burst pipes, but is generally restricted to waste and sewer pipes.
We often use water tracing dyes as a preliminary test when detecting leaks, defects and breakages in external drainage pipes and internal waste and sewer pipes.

SALT ANALYSIS

A Salt Analysis test will indicate the presence of nitrates and chloride salts found in a material after the presence of soil water,  sometimes, dismissing the need for Leak Detection. Further tests are required to confirm the exact source.

We use Salt Analysis testing as it gives an immediate result and can confirm that damage is consistent with and as a result of a leak or burst pipe, rather than a pre-existing condition or building defect.
